Governors work in partnership with the Headteacher, staff and parents to make decisions about how the school is run. They aim to secure the best possible education for every child at Brampton Village Primary, by forming a framework of policies covering the curriculum, the school environment, finances, staffing and welfare. Governors also help to shape the future of our primary school by developing both long and short term development plans.
The role of the Governing Body at Brampton Village Primary School centers around three core objectives:
1. ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
2. holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils and the performance management of staff
3. overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
But of course it goes beyond that too. It is the responsibility of the Headteacher to run the school, however, it is the role of the Governing Body to support and strengthen the Headteacher’s leadership; we do this by adopting the role of ‘critical friends’.
All our Governors bring with them a range of different skills and experiences to enhance the leadership and management of the school, and give their time and expertise for free.
We feel extremely privileged to be part of the life of our successful and vibrant school and appreciate the active and enthusiastic role carers and parents play, both in the development and growth of the children, and through the fundraising activities of our PTA.
